Arizona Congressman Juan Ciscomani is helping bring national attention to an issue wild horse advocates have raised for years: What happens to federally protected wild horses after they leave BLM custody?

Ciscomani joined a bipartisan group of lawmakers calling for an independent GAO review of the BLM’s Wild Horse and Burro Sale Program amid concerns that horses sold through the program may ultimately enter the slaughter pipeline.
